Hidgi Chuan is a Shaolin monk, Master of martial arts, psychologist and he is blind. Despite his blindness he dedicates his life to travel around the world, to teach and to get involved in humanitarian projects.
What is less well known is that Hidgi Chuan is an extremely interesting musician, even though he never started a career as a musician.
He plays the recorder and the tin wistle since many years. He learned with Masters in music like Joseph Grau, who is internationally known musician and teacher of recorder.
Hidgi´s way to play music is so different and so intense compared to everything that I experienced in all my life as a musician. An even though I have been a professional since many years I have never before experienced such a deep work as the one that I experienced with Hidgi Chuan. As this experience had such a huge impact on my way of music i have decided to share this fantastic adventure in a blog.
I am extremely happy that I had the chance to meet Hidgi and I am very greatful for all the time that he spent with me during several years. Playing music with Hidgi is a fantastic adventure into the cosmos of the possibilities of sound! I hope that many more musicians will have the chance that I had.
